Family Bryopsidaceae Bory de Saint-Vincent

Genus Bryopsis Lamouroux

The first edition of the Catalog listed the species Bryopsis plumosa (Hudson) C.Agardh (on Laminaria digitata; a strait between Malyi Eremeevsky Island and the Velikiy island; sporadic (own data)). Most likely, this is a wrong statement. According to TA Mikhailova (2010): "The Bryopsidaceae algae are most common in the tropical and the subtropical zones, they are less represented in the temperate regions of both hemispheres; as a rule, the polar and subpolar zones are the boundaries of natural habitats of certain species. Samples are required to confirm this finding." (Михайлова Т.А., 2010).

Family Derbesiaceae Hauck

Genus Derbesia (Solier) Kützing

  • Derbesia marina (Lyngbye) Kjellm.(=Derbesia tenuissima (Moris & De Notaris) P.L. Crouan & H.M. Crouan).

The first edition of the Catalog listed two species: Derbesia marina (Lyngbye) Kjellman – on Laminaria digitata; Malyi Eremeevsky Island; sporadic (own data) and Derbesia tenuissima (De Notaris) Crouan – benthic, periphyton; sublittoral; rare (own data). Derbesia tennuissima is a synonym of Derbesia marina (Виноградова, Штрик, 2005). Revision: Михайлова, 2010.

Family Ostreobiaceae P.C. Silva in Brodie et al.

Genus Ostreobium Bornet & Flahault

  • Ostreobium quekettii Bornet & Flahault – on mollusc shells, on Lithothamnion; Velikaya Salma; common (own data). This species needs clarification of nomenclature and ecological characteristics (Михайлова, 2010).
