Genus Achillea L.

• Achillea millefolium L. s. l. – yarrow, common yarrow, nosebleed plant, old man's pepper, devil's nettle, sanguinary, milfoil, soldier's woundwort, thousand-leaf, thousand-seal - Perennial. Upland meadows, near buildings – common; rare – along the sea coast in the supralittoral zone. On the Karelia coast, there were identified 3 microspecies from this complex.
• (+)(#)Achillea salicifolia Bess. s. l. [Ptarmica salicifolia (Bess.) Serg.] – Sneezewort, Sneezeweed, Bastard Pellitory, European Pellitory, Fair-maid-of-France, Goose Tongue, Sneezewort Yarrow, Wild Pellitory, White Tansy - Perennial. Collected on the upland meadow near the Verkhneye Ershovskoe lake in 1960s. The specimen corresponds to the microspecies A. cartilaginea Ledeb. ex Reichenb.

• Antennaria dioica (L.) Gaertn. – Mountain Everlasting - Perennial. On rocks and in dry pineries, at forest edges; often.

Genus Artemisia L.

• (+)($)Artemisia vulgaris L. – Mugwort - Perennial. As a weed at the WSBS settlement.

Genus Aster L. – Aster

• Aster tripolium L. [Tripolium pannonicum (Jacq.) Dobrocz. subsp. maritimum Holub] – Sea Aster - Perennial. Upper littoral, common.

Genus Bidens L. – Beggartick, Bur-marigold

• (+)($)Bidens tripartita L. – Three-lobed Beggarticks, Three-part Beggarticks, Leafy-bracted Beggarticks, Trifid Bur-marigold - Annual. Several non-blooming plants were found on the landfill near the WSBS settlement.

Genus Carduus L. – Thistle

• Carduus crispus L. – Curly Plumeless Thistle - Perennial. On the supralittoral; very rare.

Genus Centaurea L. – Starthistle, Knapweed

• (+)Centaurea jacea L. – Brown Knapweed, Brownray Knapweed - Perennial. Upland meadows and clear birch forests near the Ershovskie lakes; the birch forest near the shore in the Ermolinskaya Inlet.
• (+)Centaurea phrygia L. – Wig Knapweed - Perennial. An upland glade near the Verkhneye Ershovskoe lake.

Genus Cicerbita Wallr.

• Cicerbita alpina (L.) Wallr. [Mulgedium alpinum (L.) Cass.] – Alpine Blue-sow-thistle - Perennial. Wet birch forests, near brooks (square 2, 3, 8, 9); rare.

Genus Cichorium L. – chicory, endive

• (+)(#)Cichorium intybus L. – Common Chicory - Perennial. Collected once in 1964 at the WSBS settlement.

Genus Cirsium Mill. – Thistle

• Cirsium heterophyllum (L.) Hill – Melancholy Thistle - Perennial. In wet and boggy forests, near brooks; often.

Genus Crepis L. – hawksbeard, hawk's-beard

• Crepis paludosa (L.) Moench – Marsh Hawksbeard - Perennial. Wet forests, near brooks, often.
• Crepis tectorum L. – Narrow-leaved Hawksbeard - Annual, biennial Supralittoral – often; south-facing rocks – very rare. C. capillaris (L.) Wallr. and C. biennis L., reported for the Kindo peninsula, refer to this species.

Genus Hieracium L. s.l. – Hawkweed Hawkweed microspecies on the Kindo peninsula have not been specifically studied. Below, we lost large registered “aggregated species” and then in brackets - the name of the section to which they are roughly equivalent in size. Regarding the names of sections and subsections, we follow Р. Н. Шляков (1989), who supports determination of the genus Pilosella Hill, from Hieracium s.l. .

• (+)Hieracium caespitosum Dumort. s. l. [Pilosella sect. Pratensina (Aschers. et Graebn.) Zahn] – Meadow hawkweed - Perennial. Overgrown glades near the Ershovskie lakes.
• Hieracium laevigatum Willd. s. l. (Hieracium sect. Tridentata (Fries) G. Schneid.) – Smooth hawkweed - Perennial. In forests of different types and on rocks; often. In the samples from WSBS, Р. Н. Шляков identified a microspecies H. levigans (Zahn) Juxip. In a later published paper, Р.Н. Шляков (1989) regards this name as a synonym for H. laevigatus s. str.
• Hieracium murorum L. s. ampliss. (Hieracium sect. Hieracium) – Wall hawkweed - Perennial. In conifer forests and on rocks; common. In the samples from the Kindo peninsula, the following microspecies were identified:
  • H. coniops Norrl. (identified by Р.Н. Шляков): a motley-grass thick birch forest on the northern slope at the western edge of the ridge.
  • H. crispulum Norrl. (identified by А. Н. Сенников): Mixed forest near buildings.
  • H. diminuens Norrl. (identified by Р. Н. Шляков): молодой pine forest with birch, на просеке.
  • H. distractum Norrl. (identified by Р. Н. Шляков): in bushes; in pine forests.
  • H. lateriflorum Norrl. (identified by А. Н. Сенников): mixed forest near buildings.
• Hieracium umbellatum L. s. l. (Hieracium sect. Umbellata (Fries) Williams) – Narrowleaf hawkweed - Perennial. In forests of different types, excluding boggy ones, on upland meadows, glades, seashore rocks; often. Р.Н. Шляков identified in the samples from the Kindo peninsula, a microspecies H. littorale Schljak.

• (+)Lepidotheca suaveolens (Pursh) Nutt. [Matricaria matricarioides (Less.) Porter] – pineappleweed, wild chamomile, disc mayweed - Annual. As a weed near buildings; often.

Genus Leontodon L. – Hawkbit

• Leontodon autumnalis L. – Autumn Hawkbit, Autumn Dandelion - Perennial. Meadows, coastal rocks, near buildings; often.

Genus Leucanthemum Mill.

• Leucanthemum vulgare (L.) Lam. – Oxeye Daisy - Perennial. On an upland meadow near the Verkhneye Ershovskoe lake.

Genus Petasites Mill. – Butterbur, Sweet Coltsfoot

• Petasites frigidus (L.) Cass. [Nardosmia frigida (L.) Hook. f.] – Arctic Butterbur, Arctic Sweet Coltsfoot - Perennial. Wet forests, in the western part of the peninsula; very rare.

Genus Saussurea DC. – saw-wort, snow lotus

• Saussurea alpina (L.) DC. – Common Saw-wort - Perennial. Bogs, marshy forests, near brooks; often.

Genus Senecio L.

• (+)(#)Senecio dubitabilis C.Jeffrey et Y.L.Chen – Annual. As a weed, near the sea coast of the the WSBS settlement, sporadic. Reports on S. vulgaris L. for the Kindo peninsula refer to this species.
• (#)Senecio integrifolius (L.) Clairv. [S. campestre (Retz.) DC., Tephroseris integrifolia (L.) Holub] – Field Fleawort - Perennial. Dry sea coasts; very rare.

Genus Solidago L. – goldenrod

• Solidago virgaurea L. (S. lapponica With.) – European goldenrod - Perennial. Forests, bogs, upland meadows, rocks; common.

Genus Sonchus L. – sow thistle

• Sonchus arvensis L. s. l. – Corn Sow Thistle, Dindle, Field Sow Thistle, Gutweed, Swine Thistle, Tree Sow Thistle, Field Sowthistle, Field Milk Thistle - Perennial. Supralittoral and coastal rocks; common. The seaside race of the Sonchus arvensis is regarded as a distinct species, S. humilis Orlova.

Genus Tanacetum L. – Tansy

• Tanacetum vulgare L. – Tansy, Common Tansy, Bitter Buttons, Cow Bitter, Mugwort, Golden Buttons - Perennial. On coastal rocks, forest glades along the sea coast, in dry pineries; often.

Genus Taraxacum Wigg. – dandelion

• Taraxacum croceum Dahlst. s. l. (T. lapponicum Hand.-Mazz.) – Lappic Dandelion - Perennial. The only specimen collected at the Kindo peninsula (in a sparse pine forest), belongs to the microspecies T. repletum (Dahlst.) Dahlst.
• (+)($)Taraxacum falcatum Brenn. s. l. – Perennial. On an upland meadow of the WSBS settlement.
• Taraxacum officinale Wigg. s. l. – Common Dandelion - Perennial. Upland meadows, near buildings; often. One of the specimen was identified by Н. Н. Цвелев as a microspecies T. dahlstedtii Lindb. f.; there will be definitely found other microspecies.

Genus Tripleurospermum Sch. Bip.

• (+)($)Tripleurospermum inodorum (L.) Sch. Bip. (Matricaria inodora L., M. perforata Mérat) – scentless mayweed, scentless chamomile, wild chamomile, mayweed, false chamomile, German chamomile, Baldr's Brow - Annual, biennial, perennial. As a weed in the vegetable gardeon of the WSBS settlement.
• Tripleurospermum maritimum (L.) Koch subsp. subpolare (Pobed.) Hämet-Ahti – sea mayweed - Annual or short-lived perennial. Supralittoral – common; rare – as a weed near buildings.
