Family Rosaceae Juss. – rose family

Genus Alchemilla L. – Lady's mantle

  • Alchemilla acutiloba Opiz – Perennial. At the WSBS settlement; rare.
  • Alchemilla baltica G. Sam. ex Juz. – Baltic Lady's mantle - Perennial. Upland meadows, rare.
  • Alchemilla gibberulosa H. Lindb. – Perennial. A birch forest along the shore of the Ermolinskaya Inlet; sporadic.
  • Alchemilla gracilis Opiz – Perennial. Upland meadows, near buildings; rare.
  • Alchemilla monticola Opiz – Mountain Lady's mantle, Hairy Lady's mantle - Perennial. Upland meadows, wet forests; rare.
  • Alchemilla subcrenata Buser – Broadtooth Lady's mantle - Perennial. Upland meadows; rare.

It is difficult to judge on the time and reasons of appearance of each Lady's mantle microspecies in the WSBS vicinity, but it is clear that without human impact, their number would be significantly less.

Genus Comarum L. – Cinquefoil

  • Comarum palustre L. [Potentilla palustris (L.) Scop.] – Marsh Cinquefoil, Swamp Cinquefoil - Perennial. Wet lakeside and seashore forests and bushes, bogs, banks of brooks and lakes; common.

Genus Cotoneaster Medik.

  • Cotoneaster antoninae Juz. – Antonina's Cotoneaster - Bush. On south- and east-facing rocks, less often on north-facing rocks. In the Biofiltry Bay abundant. Reported C. cinnabarinus Juz. for the Kindo peninsula belongs to this species.

Genus Filipendula Mill.

  • Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim. – Meadowsweet - Perennial. Wet and marshy forests, near brooks; often.

Genus Fragaria L. – strawberry

  • Fragaria vesca L. – Woodland Strawberry - Perennial. South- and west-facing rocks; rare.

Genus Geum L. – avens

  • Geum rivale L. – Water avens - Perennial. Wet shores, bog edges, near brooks; quite often.
  • (+)Geum urbanum L. – Wood avens, Herb Bennet - Perennial. Found once near the destroyed barracks at the Verkhneye Ershovskoe lake on the Kindo peninsula (А. А. Нотов, oral report).

Genus Padus Mill.

  • Padus avium Mill. [P. racemosa (Lam.) Gilib.] – Bird Cherry or Hackberry - Tree, Bush. Wet motley-grass forests, along brooks; rare. Using our collections from the Kindo peninsula, it is impossible to separate subsp. avium and subsp. borealis (Schübeler) Holub.

Genus Potentilla L. – typical cinquefoil

  • Potentilla arctica Rouy – Arctic Cinquefoil - Perennial. Seashore south-facing rocks in the Biofiltry Bay; rare. Listed P. multifida L. for the Kindo peninsula belongs to this species.
  • Potentilla egedii Wormsk. – Eged's Cinquefoil - Perennial. Wet and boggy seashore meadows; often.
  • Potentilla erecta (L.) Raeusch. – Common Tormentil, Septfoil - Perennial. On bogs and in boggy forests, on damp meadows; common.
  • (+)(#)Potentilla norvegica L. – Norwegian Cinquefoil, Rough Cinquefoil, Ternate-leaved Cinquefoil - Annual, biennial. Found once as a weed at the WSBS settlement (1998).

Genus Rosa L. – rose

  • Rosa majalis Herrm. (R. cinnamomea L.) – Cinnamon Rose; Double Cinnamon Rose - Bush. At the edge of the bog and in the damp birch forest near the WSBS settlement.

Genus Rubus L.

  • Rubus arcticus L. – Arctic Raspberry - Perennial. Wet meadows, wet forests; rare.
  • Rubus chamaemorus L. – Cloudberry - Perennial. Bogs and marshy forests; common.
  • Rubus idaeus L. – European Red Raspberry - Bush. On south- and east-facing rocks – rare; in damp birch forests – quite often; grows at the place of barracks near the Ershovskie lakes.
  • Rubus saxatilis L. – Stone Bramble - Perennial. Forests, glades, along ridges on bogs; common.

Genus Sanguisorba L. – Burnet

  • Sanguisorba officinalis L. (S. polygama Nyl.) – Great Burnet - Perennial. Marshy forests, bogs; often.

Genus Sorbus L.

  • Sorbus aucuparia L. – Rowan, European Rowan, Mountain ash, European mountain ash - Tree. In forests and at forest edges; common. Полуостров Киндо находится в полосе контакта between two subspecies – subsp. aucuparia and subsp. glabrata (Wimm. et Grab.) Cajand. (S. gorodkovii Pojark.).

Family Urticaceae Juss. – the nettle family

Genus Urtica L. – Nettle

  • (+)Urtica dioica L. – Stinging nettle, Common nettle - Perennial. At the WSBS settlement and near the barracks not far from the Ershovskie lakes.
