Type location: Rugozerskaya Bay, WSBS, middle littoral, 2 VIII 1967 (Виноградова, 1974; Михайлова, 2010). The species is in the red list of Russian Federation (2020, https://redbookrf.ru/). Genus Phaeophila Hauck
- Phaeophila dendroides (Crouan) Batters – endophyte in Porphyra, Polysiphonia; littoral, sublittoral Eremeevsky porog rapids; sporadic (own data). This species needs clarification of nomenclature and ecological characteristics (михайлова, 2010).
Family Ulvaceae J. V. Lamouroux
Genus Enteromorpha Link
- Enteromorpha intestinalis (Linnaeus) Nees (= Ulva intestinalis Linnaeus) – marine, littoral; enclosed coastal areas; dominant (Возжинская, 1967). Enclosed areas; common (Долгачёва, 1975). Brackish-water supralittoral basins; common (own data). (Михайлова, 2010).
The first edition of the Catalog also listed one more species of this genus: Enteromorpha nana (Sommerfelt) Bliding – littoral; concomitant form (Возжинская, 1975: Enteromorpha nana (?): very young thin specimens, up to 2 cm.) Most likely, Скорее всего, we are dealing in this case with an erroneous determination: the name is formally taken from http://algaebase.org; even the authors names are given imprecisely; in the paper by В.Б. Возжинская (1975), this name is given with a question mark and without authors, thus it is is currently impossible to determine, what she ment using this species name combination. (Михайлова, 2010).
Genus Percursaria Bory
- Percursaria percursa (C. Agardh) Rosenvinge – Velikaya Salma, near the WSBS settlement (Виноградова, 1974; Михайлова, 2010).
Genus Ulva Linnaeus
- Ulva lactuca Linnaeus – Velikaya Salma, Korga; littoral, belt of F. distichus; on stones (Виноградова, 1974). Sublittoral; common (own data). (Михайлова, 2010).
- Ulva linza Linnaeus – on stones; littoral, sublittoral; common (own data Enteromorpha ahlneriana Bliding and Enteromorpha linza (Linnaeus) J. Agardh 1883). (Михайлова, 2010).
- Ulva prolifera O.F. Müller – littoral; concomitant form (Возжинская, 1975: Enteromorpha prolifera (O.F. Müller) J. Agardh). Velikaya Salma, from WSBS to the Cape Kindo, Bolshoi and Malyi Eremeevsky Islands. (Виноградова, 1974: Enteromorpha prolifera f. prolifera). On desalinated littoral areas, in supralittoral basins; common (own data). (Михайлова, 2010).
The first edition of the Catalog also listed another four species of this genus.
- Ulva clathrata (Roth) C. Agardh – benthic; littoral, brackish-water supralittoral basins; common (own data: Enteromorpha clathrata (Roth) Greville). This species lives in the Black Sea and the Far East seas of Russia. (Виноградова, 1974). Its indication in the White Sea is most likely the result of misidentification. (Михайлова, 2010);
- Ulva compressa Linnaeus – marine, littoral; protected coastal areas; dominant (Возжинская, 1967: Enteromorpha compressa (Linnaeus) Nees). In reality, this species does not exist, it can be found as a synonym for many modern species of the genus Enteromorpha in the traditional understanding. (Виноградова, 1974) (Михайлова, 2010);
- Ulva mutabilis Föyn – on stones; littoral pools; Malyi Eremeevsky Island; rare (own data). The determination arises doubts, since there is no information about the sample and it is unknown, what references the author of the finding used to determine this sample. (Михайлова, 2010);
- Ulva simplex (K. L. Vinogradova) Heyden, Blomster, Maggs, P.C. Silva, M.J. Stanhope et J.R. Waaland – Rugozerskaya Bay, near the Eremeevsky porog rapids; 13 VIII 1954 (by samples of Е.И. Блинова); Velikaya Salma, near the WSBS settlement; upper littoral; 31 VII 1967; Cape Kindo, a little sandy inlet; 5 VIII 1967. Type locality: Enteromorpha prolifera (O.F. Müller) J. Agardh f. simplex Vinogradova 1974: Rugozerskaya Bay, WSBS, upper литораль, on the sand, 8 VIII 1967 (Виноградова, 1974). U. simplex — according to http://algaebase.org, is the modern name of the form Enteromorpha prolifera (O.F. Müller) J. Agardh f. simplex Vinogradova. According to К.В.Виноградова (a personal message), the status of species was illegitimately assigned to this form, as it was described and found in the White Sea, nd the initiators of change in taxonomic status, and authors of the new nomenclature did not ask the type sample in the Botanical Institute named by V.L. Komarov of RAN. (Михайлова, 2010).
Genus Ulvaria Ruprecht
- Ulvaria obscura (Kützing) P. Gayral ex C. Bliding - (Михайлова, 2010).
The first edition of the Catalog also listed another one species of this genus: Ulvaria fusca Ruprecht – marine, littoral, sublittoral; on stones, thallome of Fucus, Laminaria (Блинова, 1962: Monostroma fuscum (Postels et Ruprecht) Wittrock). On thallome of macrophytes (Успенская, 1963: M. fuscum). Sublittoral, 1-2 m; poorly protected coastal areas (Возжинская, 1967). Littoral, enclosed areas; common (Долгачёва, 1975: M. fuscum). Listing this name in the Catalog is a mistake, because it has no relation to Monostroma fuscum, described by Блинова (1962), Успенская (1963), Возжинская (1967) and Долгачева (1975), who worked with the flora of algae in the WSBS MSU vicinity. Monostroma fuscum (Postels et Ruprecht) Wittrock is a synonym for Ulvaria obscura (Виноградова, 1974) (Михайлова, 2010).
